Gifts for Cyclists: Cycling Gift Ideas for Riders and Race Fans
Share
Buying for a cyclist can be tricky, because they already own the bike, the kit and most of the gadgets, and they're fussy about anything new. The best gifts for cyclists tend to be small, useful, or a knowing nod to the sport they love.
This guide is split into two halves. The first is for people who ride, and the second is for road racing fans, the ones who can tell a maillot jaune from a maglia rosa and would happily wait all day on a mountain to watch the race go by. Prices start at £10.99, and most of these cycling gifts cost under £20.
At Clubhouse Roastery, we're inspired by the romance of road racing. Our Yellow Jersey Coffee blends are named after the jerseys, riders and language of the Grand Tours, and we've picked a few cycling gifts to sit alongside them.

Cycling coffee: the gift every cyclist uses
Coffee and cycling have always gone together, since most club rides end at a café and plenty of riders won't leave the house before a proper cup. A bag of good coffee is one of the few presents for cyclists that never ends up in a drawer.
Every bag is roasted in Yorkshire and sent out within days of roasting, and each one comes whole bean or ground for their brewer, so pick the option that matches how they make coffee at home. Here are four of our favourites.
King of the Mountains
£10.99 for 250g
Named after the polka dot jersey worn by the best climber, this is a medium roast of Brazil and El Salvador beans, smooth and sweet with notes of plum. It's easy to drink, so it's a safe choice if you don't know their taste.

Breakaway Blend
£10.99 for 250g
Our house blend for cycling fans. It's bold and full-bodied, with caramel and dark chocolate, and it works just as well in a cafetière as it does as espresso. A good pick for anyone who likes a strong cup before a long ride.

Rest Day Roast
£10.99 for 250g
For riders who know the most important stage of the Tour is the one with no racing. It's a smooth single origin Colombian, with milk chocolate, toasted nut and a gentle sweetness. The label art is by illustrator Pip Claffey, so it looks the part when they unwrap it.

The Leadout Pack
£19.99 for two 250g bags
A ready-made coffee gift set for Grand Tour fans. Corsa Rosa is named after the Giro d'Italia and is fruity, with berry and stone fruit notes, while Allez Allez is smooth, with maple syrup and pecan. Two very different coffees, and you save on buying them separately.

Want something different? Domestique Decaf is a chemical-free decaf named after the rider who works for the team. Devilish Dark Roast is our boldest coffee, inspired by the Tour's famous roadside devil. You can see every blend in the Yellow Jersey Coffee range.
Books for cycling fans
A good cycling book keeps them going in the months between Grand Tours. We've curated a list of the best books for Tour de France lovers, from rider autobiographies to the stories behind the race's greatest stages.
A few of our favourites: Tadej Pogačar: Unstoppable by Andy McGrath, 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs of the Tour de France by Simon Warren, and Lanterne Rouge by Max Leonard, the story of the last man in the Tour. That last one pairs well with our Lanterne Rouge coffee!

Gifts for cyclists who ride
If they ride most weekends, they'll appreciate small things that make life on the bike easier, or a bit more fun. Both of these are light enough to take on every ride.
Rehook Mini Chain Tool
from £16.99
A dropped chain is one of the most common reasons to stop at the roadside. This pocket chain tool hooks it back on without oily fingers, and at home it helps with chain jams, cleaning and tyre changes. It weighs just 21g, clips onto keys or a saddle bag, and is designed and made in the UK.
For £5 more, the Reload set adds five extra bits: 5mm and 6mm hex, T25 and T30 Torx, and a PZ2 screwdriver. With these, it covers many of the common bolts on a bike, not just the chain.

Moka Pot Bike Valve Caps (set of 2)
£14.99
Half bike part, half coffee joke. These tiny moka pots screw onto their tyre valves, and they're handmade in Switzerland with an aluminium thread that stays put. One thing to check: they fit presta valves only, the thin type found on most road and gravel bikes.
Gifts for cycling fans
Some of the biggest cycling fans never race at all. They plan holidays around the Tour, know every hairpin on Alpe d'Huez, and stand at the roadside for hours to watch the peloton pass in seconds. These gifts are for them.
The cap and musette are from The General Classification, a lifestyle brand inspired by the romance of road racing. Like us, they're fans first, happiest at the roadside as the race goes by.
Grand Tour Leaders 5 Panel Cap
£25.50
Three embroidered riders in yellow, pink and red, the leader's jerseys of cycling's three Grand Tours. It's a soft, unstructured navy cap in 100% cotton, with a buckle strap to adjust the fit. Fans will get the reference straight away.
Départ Canvas Musette
£13.95
A musette is the cloth bag handed up to riders in the feed zone. This green canvas one has DÉPART printed on both sides and a bright blue strap. At 35cm by 29cm, it's big enough for a flask, a snack and a spare layer on race day. Designed in London.
Blue Bicycle Bamboo Socks
£10.99
These royal blue socks are covered in tiny bicycles. They're made from soft bamboo with a reinforced heel and toe, and they're subtle enough to wear with work clothes. You don't need to ride to wear them. They come in UK 7-11 and a hard-to-find 12-15.

Build your own cycling gift set
Two small gifts often feel more generous than one big one. These pairings all work well together:
- The café stop (£25.98): King of the Mountains and the moka pot valve caps. Coffee for home, and a talking point for the bike.
- The roadside fan (£33.94): The Leadout Pack and the Départ musette. Two Grand Tour coffees, and a bag to carry the flask on race day.
- The small gift (£21.98): the bicycle socks and a bag of Breakaway Blend.
Want more coffee in the box? The Peloton Pack (£29.99) has three of our most popular cycling blends in one gift.
Cycling gift FAQs
What do you buy a cyclist who has everything?
Skip the kit and go for something they'd never buy for themselves. Coffee gets used every day, and a fun extra like the moka pot valve caps or the Grand Tour Leaders cap is something most riders won't already own.
What are good cycling gifts under £20?
Every product in this guide except the cap costs under £20. A bag of Yellow Jersey Coffee or the bicycle socks cost £10.99, the musette is £13.95, the valve caps are £14.99 and the Rehook Mini starts at £16.99.
Will the valve caps fit their bike?
Only if their bike has presta valves. These are the thin valves with a small lock nut at the tip, found on most road and gravel bikes. They won't fit the wider, car-style Schrader valves common on mountain bikes, hybrids and kids' bikes.
What is a musette?
A musette is a light cotton bag that team staff hand to riders in the feed zone during a race. Riders grab it, take out the food and drop the bag, and fans now use them as everyday shoulder bags.
Which coffee grind should I choose?
If they grind their own beans, choose wholebean. If they use an espresso machine or moka pot, choose espresso grind. For a V60, AeroPress or filter machine, choose filter. If you're not sure, ground for cafetière is the safest choice, as most kitchens have one.
Will everything arrive together?
Not always. The coffee is sent from our roastery, but the cap, musette, socks, Rehook and valve caps ship directly from our suppliers. If you order coffee and a cycling gift together, they will arrive in separate parcels and may come on different days.
